Why We Sell Package Heat Pumps and Gas Packs Online
Package units arrive at your door completely assembled and tested by the manufacturer. They are easy to install. There is no line set to solder; in fact there is no soldering of any kind required. The unit is pre-charged with refrigerant (Freon) to the perfect levels by the factory. There is no further adjustment of the refrigerant levels required. In fact we recommend you do not remove the factory caps on the refrigerant test ports on the front of the unit. Each unit comes with a spec sheet, schematic diagram and user's guide. Package units are rugged, quiet, and made to be outdoors. Made in USA, these are the same units used in shopping malls, hospitals, restaurants, industrial job sites, movie theaters as well as thousands of homes across the US, Canada and Japan.
Gas pack units do not require a venting system, thereby eliminating flue pipe installations, chimney liners, flue inspections, chimney sweeps, and there is no need to worry about carbon monoxide leaking into the living space through a faulty or failed flue system. Installing or converting to a package unit gets the "machinery" as well as the noise out of your basement, closet, attic or crawlspace. Servicing is simple. Package units are easily serviced from outside. No crawling, climbing and no workman coming into your home. In fact Package units can be serviced or repaired without requiring the homeowner to be at home or a key left under the doormat. Installing a package unit is as simple as setting it and making the connections.

Why We Don't Sell Split Systems or Gas Furnaces Online
Air Waves Heating And Air Inc. has a policy that split systems and non-package gas fired equipment should only be installed by local heating and air conditioning dealers that are trained, licensed, certified and insured. Reasons why we have this policy are provided below.
Split heat pumps and split air conditioners: Split systems require special skills to install such as soldering of the line set that contains and transfers the flow of refrigerant under high pressure to and from the two separate components of the system (evaporator coil and condenser). The Environmental Protection Agency has strict guidelines regarding the handling of refrigerants (Freon). Of these requirements a person handling refrigerants must be certified by the EPA and carry a certification card. Non-certified persons working with refrigerants could unintentionally violate EPA law resulting in possible fines and/or other action. (For further information on EPA requirements please contact the EPA directly). Our manufacturers expect the quality and integrity of any system bearing a brand name to be upheld by the use of skilled trained personnel to make the crucial refrigerant and electrical connections between components. This is because the manufacturer often gets blamed ! for equipment failure when the failure is actually the result of poor quality or faulty connections that directly and adversely affect the overall performance of the system. Serious injury, fire and/or death could be the result of an untrained person using a blowtorch to solder the connections.
Gas fired split systems or furnaces: Non-package gas fired equipment requires a complete understanding and proper venting of the combustion waste gasses. This venting system is otherwise known as the "flue pipe", "chimney/flue" or "exhaust system". Many state and local building codes have strict guidelines regarding flue systems. Many furnaces in use today may have met code requirements 10 years ago but once they are replaced must be updated to the currant code. A person that is not skilled and familiar with these codes could unintentionally violate the building code resulting in fines and/or legal action. (Please consult your local building inspector for more information). A furnace that is improperly vented could result in carbon monoxide gasses leaking into the living space possibly causing injury or death of any or all persons occupying the heated space.
